HOUSE IN VIDIMSKÁ STREET

About the Project

Life in light. The challenge here was to preserve the massing of the original structure while maximizing usable space — all within a row house from the 1980s.

The clients made a bold decision to give up their balconies in order to enlarge the living rooms. The original layout was quite closed off, so we opened it up toward the facades. By using profiled glass, enlarging openings, and removing partitions, we managed to bring natural light deep into the house. At the entrance, we introduced sightlines through sliding doors and expanded openings that connect all the way to the garden. On the upper floor, light flows through the house thanks to a wall of Copilit glass, which we also applied in other parts of the interior. As a result, light reaches every corner and gently diffuses throughout the space. The most breathtaking moments come in the early morning and late evening, when direct eastern or western light floods the house. To complete the transformation, we added lighting that enhances the sense of intimacy — from dawn till dusk.
