SUMMER APARTMENT IN VINOHRADY

About the Project

This Prague summer apartment on Polská Street, with fourth-floor views over Riegrovy Sady, underwent a carefully curated transformation that blends modern updates with existing furnishings.

The most significant changes took place in the kitchen and the two bathrooms. Drawing inspiration from the Milan home of the Italian owners, each bathroom features Bisazza mosaics in shades of green and blue, paired with ceramic tiles. The main walls in both rooms are illuminated by Gregg fixtures from the Venetian brand Foscarini, creating a striking visual effect. The original layout was preserved, as were several pieces of furniture with personal value to the owners. A central role was played by custom carpentry — such as the kitchen and walk-in wardrobe — as well as contemporary lighting. New forms, materials, and colors were deliberately chosen to echo the original furnishings, including the iconic Eames Lounge Chair. Though modest in scale, the changes made were meaningful to the owners and resulted in a highly comfortable living space.
