SUMMER APARTMENT IN VINOHRADY

About the Project

A summer apartment Polská Street in Prague, with fourth-floor views of Riegrovy Sady, has undergone a carefully conceived transformation combining modern interventions with existing furnishings.

The original layout and several pieces of furniture valuable to the owners have been preserved, while new forms, materials, and colors consciously respond to them. A key role was played by bespoke carpentry — particularly the kitchen cabinetry — and thoughtfully selected lighting. The worktop and wall cladding made of light-toned crushed marble by the Portuguese manufacturer RMC add a subtle color accent to the interior. The most notable changes took place in the kitchen and two bathrooms. Inspired by the Milan home of the Italian owners, each bathroom features Bisazza mosaics in shades of green and blue, complemented by small-format tiles in contrasting white. The main walls in both rooms are illuminated by Gregg fixtures from the Venetian brand Foscarini, creating a distinctive visual effect. Though modest in scale, the updates have resulted in a refined and comfortable city retreat for the owners’ seasonal stays.
